Step-by-step process (timeline: from filing to bank account)
The formation timeline: three to five business days for the state filing, then the EIN (one day with a Social Security number, four to five weeks for non-residents via faxed paperwork and IRS calls), then one to three days for an online business bank account. Expect two extra weeks from January to April.
